Supporting Best Practices in Volunteer Management Since 1976
VCC offers volunteer managers access to resources and support in the following ways:
Educational Programs: VCC hosts six continuing education programs each year. These programs are conducted by local volunteer management experts on a variety of topics. Attendance at these programs is free to VCC members. Guests are always welcome for a nominal registration fee.
Annual Conference: The Annual Conference is where volunteer managers move beyond the "how to" of their job into the high level analytical "why" of community engagement. Nationally recognized experts on volunteerism and nonprofit management present thought-provoking insights into trends and issues impacting community engagement. The 2008 Annual Conference was held on September 12, and featured noted volunteer mangement expert STEVE McCURLEY. Watch for details on the 2009 conference.
Food for Thought: VCC's acclaimed weekly e-letter offering information and insights on volunteer management is provided free with membership. Annual subscriptions ($35/year) are also available for volunteer managers located outside the Kansas City area. To subscribe, contact us at vcc@kc.rr.com.
Networking: VCC encourges volunteer managers to "get to know" their peers, whether it's sharing ideas across the table at a continuing education program or trading information on our blog (coming soon!). By combining live programming with the power of the web, we connect volunteer managers from across the city and around the globe.
Support: Need to know the current hourly dollar value of volunteer time or looking for creative suggestions for low-cost volunteer recognition? Our staff loves a challenge and is always ready to help.
